Harmonix has just published the first update of Rock Band VR, whose main novelty is the compatibility with Xbox 360 guitars and texts in Spanish among other languages.
The update has already reached players through Oculus Home, and although the patch notes speak only of the Xbox 360 Stratocaster wireless guitars, some players have been able to verify that it also works with the Guitar Hero 2 Xplorer that goes direct by USB cable, as well as the Rock Band 1 wired guitar. Although it is clear that for new players the best option is the Xbox One Stratocaster, since all Rift owners must have a wireless receiver, those interested in cheaper options can already use the Xbox 360 guitars, although the adapter included with the Touch controllers may not fit perfectly in other models other than the aforementioned Stratocaster and should look for other ways to attach it… nothing that a little double-sided adhesive tape can’t fix.
Leaving aside the topic of guitars, the game also adds texts in Spanish, French and German, which will make it easier for users to understand the game’s tutorials, although once we have understood the mechanics of the chords and the virtuoso mode the language goes to the background and will not affect us to play the campaign or play individual songs. Harmonix has also taken the opportunity to fix some bugs when it comes to the game correctly detecting certain combos and has fixed some small animation glitches.
