“Rostelecom” has repeated achievement of the TTK| 05.09.2008

On Friday, September 5, company “Rostelecom” has announced the commercial launch of the submarine cable system (PKS) RJCN, sandwiched between Russia and Japan.

Recall, the Russian operator had created RJCN cooperation with Japanese company KDDI, which at the time signed the contract. The company commissioned the construction of the submarine cable system
the firm NEC. She laid two geographically diverse fiber-optic lines and install equipment that supports DWDM.

This summer its submarine cable system HSCS (Hokkaido-Sakhalin Cable System) launched commercial operation of the company “TransTeleCom” (TTK) and NTT Communications. This system also
built by NEC. The construction of HSCS was at the time valued the companies at $30 million.

It should be noted that the TTC, and “Rostelecom” created the undersea cable system, focusing on the fact that in the next year or two will greatly increase the amount of traffic sent from Europe to
the direction of the Asia-Pacific region.

These PKS have become parts of a more global project operators to build a powerful transit of cable systems between Europe and Asia. So, the TTC creates a route EurasiaHighway. Rostelecom, in its
place, with the participation of KDDI is implementing the project “Transit Europe Asia” (TEM).
