According to both TechRadar and VR-Focus, they have learned from reliable sources that Oculus VR plans to launch a beta version of the Oculus Rift CV1 in April 2015, with a limited number of units in the style of the launch of Google Glass. Other sources indicate that it could be delayed until the summer, since the date would not yet be completely fixed.
As they say, it seems that Oculus VR intends to measure the interest of both consumers and points of sale before launching its HMD in a massive way, and the distribution would be carried out in a similar way to the current development kits. For its part, Oculus VR has not made any official statement about this, therefore we must consider it just a rumor, no matter how reliable the sources say they are.
