With tennis and bowling, two of the most popular sports at that time are probably returning. In addition, the sword fight already represented in “Wii Sports Resort” is part of the game. With football, volleyball and badminton, three new disciplines are on offer.
Virtual penalty in front of the TV
The Nintendo Switch is controlled with the Joycons. The gameplay has not changed compared to its predecessor. With the controllers, the movements of the individual sports are imitated, for example by swinging tennis or badminton rackets or throwing bowling balls. In football, you can even use your own foot to shoot with an enclosed leg loop for the joycons.
The most fun “Nintendo Switch Sports” will probably be in multiplayer mode. In front of your own screen, several players with one Joycon each can play against each other or in teams for the victory. But the online mode is also worth it: while you are rising in rankings, new outfits or sports equipment can be unlocked.
As for the movement, “Nintendo Switch Sports” probably will not be able to replace a full training session on the tennis court or football field. But for an entertaining, fun competition in your own living room, “Nintendo Switch Sports” is a good substitute. You don’t have to break a sweat – but you can.
“Nintendo Switch Sports” is available for Nintendo Switch and costs around 40 euros.
