Setting up Apple airport express
I have created a guide on how to set up my access point, Apple airport express. It’s set up as bridge mode bridge mode, that means it’s set up behind my router and works like a wireless switch. I have set up my airport express with fixed IP address, so that I can easily access it and there will be no conflicts regarding. IP addresses. Below is a step by step guide with pictures, hope it can be used. Remember you must use the cd that comes with, there is a program that you need to install on your Windows, otherwise you can not configure it.
1. After installing the program “Airport tools“, should you like to get the picture below. Here you can see that it has found my airport express, click “Manual setting”.
2. Now it searches for new firmware, just wait.
3. The first picture you will see is the one below, here you will get a quick overview of your access point configuration.
4. Click “Base“in the tabs and create a new code. The code will be used to log into your Airport express later, i.e. if you need to make changes – by default the code is for airport express public.
5. Now you need to click “Wireless“in the tabs. Create a desired name for your threeless network and select channel and security level. Then enter a code for the wireless network, i.e. the code you need to get to connect to it via your computer or smartphone.
6. After clicking “Settings for the wireless network“, choose “Denmark”.
7. Now press “Internet“at the top and select “Internet connection“- set it up as “bridge function”.
8. Click on the tab “TCP / IP“and set it up with an IP address that is not being used on your Network. You can see this guide here what is my IP address to see what your Network is called. I have chosen my name x.x.x.240 eventually, I know it won’t be used so it won’t conflict.
