The new Shadow Creator viewer, which features absolute positioning in HMD and controllers, will be available on November 11 for $ 399.
Next to the announcement of the launch of Vive Focus in the West, HTC it has also taken the opportunity to welcome its ecosystem Live Wave to the new autonomous viewfinder Shadow VR of the company Shadow Creator, which will be available worldwide on 11 november for $ 399. The device of the Chinese company bets on the Snapdragon 835 processor (as Focus, Mirage Solo and Quest) and mounts fresnel lenses “ultra-thin” next to an LCD screen (do not specify Hz) with a resolution of 2560×1440 (as Mirage Solo and Go) to achieve 110º of FOV. In turn, it has absolute positioning both in the viewfinder and in the motion controllers, and includes speakers for sound (it is expected that also plug jack for headphones) and a battery of 3,500 mAh.
Shadow VR is committed to a fastening system with soft straps.
“Partnering with Vive and Wave benefits us doubly. It allows us to achieve more profit models through the open platform and also helps us connect with more users around the world, thus improving our company’s international reputation and brand influence,” says Jinxin Hu, COO of Shadow Creator.

To achieve the absolute positioning of the controllers, HTC shares that Shadow Creator uses “ray tracing” technology that, judging by the ball that the controllers include in its upper part, seems to be related to the two front cameras of the viewfinder.
Shadow VR can be purchased from its website for 3,499 yuan (approximately€ 444.35), with its price for the United States of 399 dollars, the same as Quest.
