One of the demos that has attracted the most attention at the GDC has been Skyworld, reminiscent of classics such as Civilization and Populous. We will be able to move around the virtual board if we have the right space.
At the GDC it has been presented as a technological demo, but it will be released as a full game at the end of the year along with the commercial version of HTC Vive, and its creators are considering the possibility of offering two game modes: sitting or standing. For this last option we will need about one and a half meters of space to move freely around the game board, with which we will interact thanks to the Lighthouse controls. There is no doubt that strategy games can take on a totally new dimension thanks to virtual reality, and today we have in Toybox Turbos or BlazeRush, two good examples for DK2 of how impressive it is to contemplate a miniature world before us.
