A few days ago, we informed you that Sony was preparing an announcement related to its Xperia line, for video games and mobiles. Today, we already know what it is: a new cell phone and an accessory that will ensure that professionals and streamers have the best possible performance.

Through a livestream on YouTube, Sony revealed its 2 big surprises for mobile gamers: the Xperia Stream accessory and the new Xperia 1 IV Gaming Edition cell phone. The Xperia Stream is a cooling system that is used to coat a cell phone, to ensure that training days, streams and competitions or, which are usually very long, do not overheat the equipment and thus do not affect its performance.

In addition, the Xperia Stream also includes several extra ports, so that the player or streamer can connect everything they need at the same time: 3.5mm port, for headphones; HDMI port, to connect a video capture; LAN port, to connect an Ethernet adapter and ensure connection stability; and USB-C port, to connect the charger. Check it out here:

On the other hand, the Xperia 1 IV Gaming Edition is an improved and focused version of a pre-existing cell phone. This model includes 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, but outside of that it is the same as the Xperia 1 IV, which in itself was already a good cell phone to play: the device has a 6.5″ 4K screen and 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and 5000 mAh battery. The interesting thing is that those who order the Gaming Edition will also get the Xperia Stream accessory as a gift.

At the moment, it seems that these new devices will only be available in Japan, starting on October 14. According to Sony Japan’s official site, the Xperia Stream will cost ¥23,100 JPY (about $162 USD), while the bundle with the Xperia 1 IV Gaming Edition will cost ¥189,200 JPY (about $1,330 USD).

What do you think of these devices? Leave us your comments!
