The creative minds behind titles like X-Wing, Crysis and Desert Combat are looking for Kickstarter funding for Starfighter Inc, a multiplayer space combat game.

Lovers of uncomplicated space action can now prepare their virtual ships for a new title that leaves aside the complications offered by more complex titles such as Elite Dangerous or Star Citizen. Starfighter Inc delivers action galore in fierce multiplayer combat, thus inheriting the best of the classic X-Wing vs Tie Fighter by capturing the mechanics and intensity of it, but using today’s graphics, technology and possibilities, including support for virtual reality devices. It’s the first game from Thriller Studios, which we told you about last month.

In Starfighter Inc there will be no individual campaign, unless some stretch goals that seem very complicated to us ($ 10 million) are achieved, so if the base objective is achieved we will have various combat modes to face other players: Dogfight, Convoy Escort, Assault on the Base, Capture of Supplies and Reconnaissance. The next $700,000 stretch goal would double the maximum number of players and add multiplayer ships, troop transports, drones and new game modes.

We can get the full game for $17 if we are an early bird, and the final goal is $250,000. The campaign is progressing at a very good pace and they have already achieved around 50% of the objective, for which they have until June 7. The game will be finished in August 2016 and they have not yet specified which virtual reality devices it will be compatible with, but its creators currently have Oculus development kits.
