After staying very close to achieving the objective of the previous campaign, they release a second one where they already show what this space combat simulator really looks like and not just a concept.
Impeller Studios, creators of titles such as X-Wing and MechWarriors 2, has unveiled the launch of a new Kickstarter campaign of the space combat simulator, Starfighter Inc, which comes almost two years after the first failed to achieve its goal. “Last time we showed a concept of our vision, but this time we can show it. We have been able to create a multiplayer space combat experience that is realistic and fun,” says David Wessman, chief designer at Impeller Studios.
Starfighter Inc uses the Unreal engine and brings us closer to a universe where our acts as a mercenary will have an effect on a story where large corporations fight for control. We will use combat, support and reconnaissance ships that can be controlled by one or several players, depending on the model. The space combat simulator is based on the gameplay of X-Wing vs TIE-Fighter, but with unprecedented sophistication and depth. In turn, it also combines the death system of Counter-Strike with the customization of World of Warships.
The new campaign seeks $150,000 that will allow completing the game’s base, a single-player tutorial and 3-on-3 multiplayer missions. We can support the campaign from $25 or $35 if we want access to the beta that will arrive later. The estimated delivery date is for April 2018 and the game will be compatible with Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and OSVR.
