“Strim-TV” builds networks in 42 cities| 25.06.2008
Wednesday, June 25, the U.S. company Cisco has announced that it has signed a contract for the supply of their network equipment with the company “Strim-TV”.
Approval of Cisco, currently the “stream-TV” creates 27 branches in the area of responsibility of which there are 42 Russian cities. Each cable television operator and
Internet service provider building its own data network based on technology from the American company.
Under the terms of the contract, Cisco needs to supply to the customer routers and switches needed to build MetroEthernet networks with 10-Gigabit “core”. Moreover, the relevant sets
equipment must be installed in all the branches of “stream-TV”. By the way, the number of regional subdivisions of the operator by the end of this year, when scheduled to complete the supply of equipment, shall
increase to 32.
Cisco also notes that he took on not only the supply of equipment and its further maintenance, but also acted as a financial partner “Strim-TV”. So, subdivision
the American company — Cisco Capital — provided the operator with a “long-term financing” for the project. The cost of the firm is not known.
