Sony Pictures continues the trend of movie-based experiences with this new adventure of more than 20 minutes that transports us inside the Avalon ship.

Sony Pictures premieres Passengers: Awakening VR, an experience based on the film Passengers starring Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt and which was released earlier this year. The experience offers an adventure with more than 20 minutes of duration, multiple rooms and interactive puzzle solving. We will wake up on the Avalon ship as it crosses Mars on its way to the Homestead colony. We will soon realize that there are critical problems and we will have to help our fellow traveler Jim Preston fix them. We will use the Polaris multitool to solve a series of puzzles while exploring the different corners of the luxurious ship. Every moment will count as we try to save the other 5,000 sleeping passengers and join a spacewalk with Jim to the outside of the ship’s hull.

Passenger: Awakening VR is compatible with motion controllers and uses a teleportation-based locomotion system, as we can see in the previous trailer. The experience is available on Steam and in the Oculus store at a price of € 9.99, and is compatible with Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and soon with PlayStation VR.
