The virtual and augmented reality startup incubator, Oarsis, has created an infographic that brings together all the companies in Spain that work with virtual and augmented reality. As of the second quarter of 2017, Oarsis has detected more than 150 companies, of which the 109 most active have been represented and categorized. The intention of the launch of this infographic, by Oarsis, is to have mapped the entire ecosystem of virtual and augmented reality in Spain, and that anyone who is interested can consult it at any time.
This market of more than 150 companies has developed in the last 4 years, where about half of the companies have been created in the last two years. The business fabric in this sector is mainly occupied by service companies that develop VR / AR experiences for brands and companies (represented in the lower part of the infographic), however, more and more companies are beginning to appear that are focused on their own product, following the “startup” model.
Many of these companies have a presence not only nationally but also internationally, such as Future Lighthouse, The Dream VR, inMediaStudio and Visyon. Studio Future, led by the brothers Ruipérez of Murcia, has been one of the developers which has secured the support of Oculus for the development of one of its titles, and Future Lighthouse has achieved one of its jobs is to become the first advertising campaign with virtual reality that has been nominated for the Tribeca X Award.
We can be very proud of the national panorama, where despite the competition there may be, support among professionals is a very common pattern. In general, we are talking about companies that firmly believe in the future of these technologies that give life to these new media called to change everything.
