Many IT experts can dictate their conditions to employers.
Hamburg Companies in all industries have to make more and more efforts to hire IT specialists. Henning Soller, partner at McKinsey, now sees the phenomenon of “advertised positions that are never filled” in almost all of his clients. The management consultancy estimates that the German economy will need 780,000 additional IT specialists by 2026.
On the one hand, employers have to accept drastic salary increases. According to experts, a few years of work experience are already sufficient in individual cases for an annual salary of over 100,000 euros.
On the other hand, many companies feel obliged to keep attractive and therefore expensive offices despite increased remote work. More and more companies are also opening development centers abroad in order to be able to cover their personnel needs at all. Smaller companies rely on service providers such as Workmotion in order to be able to hire decentrally without their own location.
