The Trackmania 2 update for Oculus Rift DK2 has finally arrived, and it seems that this is an adaptation in conditions. At the moment it does not seem that they have implemented a cockpit mode, so we will have a spectacular third-person view from which we will go through incredible loopings and perform all kinds of stunts at a chilling speed. It’s the usual Trackmania, but in a big way.
It is therefore the equivalent of playing the game on a giant screen, but with full freedom to move your head at all times and use the absolute positioning to look at the details of the car. The menus have also been adapted and, although some letters are difficult to read due to the distance, the creators give us the possibility of pressing Mays + F11 to switch between monitor mode, which is more comfortable for menus, and Rift mode. The performance of the game is sensational, there is not the slightest trace of juddering and the low persistence works perfectly. We can use the DK2 in extended or direct mode to activate the Rift mode. And in case we are not clear if the game is worth it, we can also try the virtual reality mode in the demo. We recommend all owners of the DK2 to take a look at it.
