The first buyers of the Oculus Rift DK1 fondly remember a title called Proton Pulse, a recreation of the mythical brick-breaker in virtual reality that completed with great success a Kickstarter campaign that was canceled a few months later. The exact reasons for such a cancellation are not yet known, but its creator returns to the charge with a new game – Vanguard Valkyrie.
According to Road to VR, Vanguard Valkyrie will be an exclusive title for virtual reality, compatible with Oculus Rift DK1 and DK2, and a stretch goal for Project Morpheus and mobile phones if enough money is raised on Kickstarter, whose campaign starts on Wednesday, the 23rd. In Vanguard Valkyrie we will assume the role of Qu and we will move in space using an EVA (extra-vehicular activity) suit with which we will have to defend the Earth from alien invaders.
The action will take place in the third person and the control will be done with the head for the most part, just like in Proton Pulse, since the objective of the game is to make it accessible to everyone. Another of the strengths of Proton Pulse was the spectacular soundtrack, and that is something that will also be extremely careful in Vanguard Valkyrie. We will have more details in a couple of days, when the Kickstarter campaign starts.
