The community continues to warm up engines to welcome you to the DK2. And it is that whether we receive it in July or if it reaches us later, the demos, games and wrappers must also be adapted. The community behind Vireio, the free driver that allows us to enjoy non-compatible titles such as Skyrim, Dirt or Left 4 Dead on the Oculus Rift, announces a new version for the 4th of July.
Today the details are scarce. They comment on mtbs3d that, although there are some new features in terms of games (including new titles), the team has been adding some new and creative improvements to the driver, in addition to something new that will help foster the Vireio developer community and release more updates regularly.
As for the support for the DK2, the new version includes a series of improvements in the framework that will allow the renderer changes for the DK2 to be implemented quickly, but until they receive their unit they will not be able to do much more. They also comment that it will be possible to add absolute positioning to games that work with Vireio, but they still do not know to what extent the solution they are working on will be effective and valid through direct memory management.
