The popular Virtual Desktop program, which allows you to manage the Windows desktop from the Oculus Rift, has added a new functionality: the possibility of using virtual environments from 3D files.
During the installation of version 0.9.28 of Virtual Desktop we will be asked if we want to install the Environment Editor. This tool allows you to import models from some of the most popular 3D formats such as .3ds, .fbx, .obj or.blend. In addition, we can create environments from a skybox (such as the .dds), a 360º panorama like these or these scenes from the slBL Archive. The environment editor will generate an extension file.own Virtual Desktop vde that will facilitate the distribution of them. We are sure that in a matter of days there will be real wonders (a new job for Hyperlight?). At the moment we have not found any screenshot to show you, but everything will be fine.
