Software Modernization, Part 6 When Legacy Software Can no longer be Saved
It is not always possible or useful to modernize software in a complex manner. However, this finding is not always easy – the solution, on the other hand, is often even more so.
At some point, the hour comes for every software when the company has to think about modernization or replacement.
Hand on heart. Which company does not push the topic of software modernization ahead of itself, shies away from costs and downtime and therefore waits for the right time, which never seems to come?
However, this procrastination when it comes to software modernization can also cost money, namely if the legacy software works inefficiently or unreliably, training new employees costs a lot of time and money, or essential functions can no longer be retrofitted.
