The Vive viewer achieves its worst share percentage to date on the Valve platform while Rift continues to lead.
Optional survey data from Steam on hardware and software are already available for the month of August, showing for the fourth consecutive month the continuous growth that Windows Mixed Reality viewers are experiencing, which achieve this time an increase of 0.77% to reach a total of 7.18%, its highest value to date. Oculus Rift is another of the viewers that rises also this month, adding an increase of 0.93%, and that remains with the highest percentage of quota of the Valve platform. However, HTC’s viewfinder reduces its share by 1.77% to get its worst value yet: 42.58% share.
Windows MR continues its growth for the fourth consecutive month.
As for the comparison with the total of Steam users, the Rift viewer rises by 0.05%, Lives by 0.03% and Windows MR by 0.01%, achieving Rift again to be the most popular viewer on the platform with 0.35% on the total.
