A total of 7 women, including Mar Gónzalez from Microsoft Research and Gema Climent from Nesplora, will meet on May 3 in Valencia to tell their experience and highlight their professional work with virtual reality.

Innoarea he has announced the first meeting, with name Women in VR, dedicated exclusively to women who are part of the virtual reality ecosystem nationally and internationally, aiming to highlight the work of Spanish professionals in this medium. The Women in VR event, organized by ValenciaLAB and Innoarea, will be held on May 3 at the ValenciaLAB facilities from 18:00 to 21:00 and will have a capacity open to everyone, but with free registration that we can complete through this link.

“We have launched this initiative, the first of its kind in Spain, by detecting the absence of female speakers at most professional events in the sector,” says Amparo Caballero, CMO of Innoarea.

A total of 7 women, with different professional profiles ranging from research to marketing, will tell about their professional career with virtual reality and will share with the attendees their experience of being a woman in a predominantly male technology sector.

Among the invited speakers will be Gema Climent, finalist of the European Innovative Woman Award 2017 and founder of Nesplora, a company that aims to treat human behavior using emerging technologies.

Mar González-Franco, one of the reference figures in virtual reality research at an international level. A researcher at Microsoft Research, Mar will share her experience working on the development of prototypes aimed at deciding whether these new technologies are ready for the end consumer.

Ana Tajadura-Jiménez, researcher at the Loyola Andalucía University of Seville. She will share her work as part of the Human Neuroscience laboratory, coordinating the research line called “Multisensory stimulation to alter the perception of the body and space, emotions and motor behavior”.

Another of the guests will be Elena Kokkinara, with more than 7 years of experience in the field of virtual reality and currently CTO of the Inflight VR company, dedicated to the production of a virtual reality entertainment system for airplanes. The poster will be completed by Amparo Caballero, CMO of Innoarea; Irene Milián, CEO and founder of Hikaru VR Agency; and Encarni Murcia, COO and co-founder of Newreal Technologies. Free tickets to attend Women in VR can now be purchased through here.
