Reload Studios, formed by former Call of Duty developers, announces World War Toons, a cartoon-style multiplayer shooter set in World War II.
Finally, the ex-developers of Call of Duty return to the theme related to the Second World War with World War Toons. It is a multiplayer first-person shooter designed for virtual reality that will also have a version for monitor. According to its creators, the action of the game will be slow, and the cartoon style will allow them to skip some conventional rules to make life easier for those who play with a virtual reality viewer. It is known that there will be different classes of soldiers with different abilities, classes that we can change at all times during the game by picking up the corresponding weapon, for example from a soldier that we have shot down.
At the moment its creators are experimenting with different control schemes to make the game in virtual reality as easy as possible, with some unconventional methods such as pressing a gamepad button to advance and another to go back. They are also experimenting with specific controllers for virtual reality, such as the Morpheus controllers.
The sense of humor and the artistic direction will be protagonists in this title that still has no release date or announced platforms, although they have shown a demo working on Oculus Rift DK2 and have stated that it will also be for Project Morhpeus on PS4. The engine is Unreal Engine 4, so support for different platforms should be possible. There will be more information at E3 and possibly the game will enter the public alpha phase.
