Java does not work on my computer
If you’re having trouble getting Java to work on your computer, maybe the solution is here. Java is used for things like online banking(easy id), online games, etc. and if your Java doesn’t work, you can’t use those things when you’re online. Java is used in your Internet browser, i.e. either Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox or one of the many others on the internet. In order for Java to work in your Internet browser, it must first and foremost be installed on your computer, and then ensure that it is enabled as an add-on in your internet browser. By default it will of course be enabled in your browser when the program is installed, but often it is the problem with Java when it does not work. Below is a guide to check that Java is properly installed and the Add-On is enabled in your browser.
For Internet Explorer
1. Click ” Start“and then click “Panel”
2. Click “Uninstall a program”
3. Check if Java is installed, you should not remove it. It is only to see if it is installed, if it is not installed you can see a guide on how to do it here: setting up java for online banking
4. Now open your Internet Explorer and click on the top right and select “Manage add-ons”
5. Select “Toolbars and extensions“on the left. Here you need to find the Java Plug – in and check that it is enabled under status.
For Mozilla Firefox
1. Check that Java is installed correctly on your computer, see point 1-2-3 for installation for Internet Explorer.
2. Launch your firefox browser and click “Features“and then “Additions”
3. Click “Extensions“and find Java in the overview, check that it / they are enabled.
