Augmented reality will come to school classrooms this fall with Expeditions AR, a new way of learning, thanks to Tango technology.
Google he has presented at the I/O conference a new program of Expeditions focused on this occasion in augmented reality. To date, Expeditions was an initiative to bring virtual reality to students from different schools and show their educational potential. Now with Expeditions AR students will be able to see in the real world elements such as a DNA string or a class 5 hurricane, and all this, for the moment, through the screen of a phone. Google has been developing Tango technology for years that allows devices to track movement and understand distances and their position in the real world. This technology is what makes it possible for students to move around 3D elements positioned in the real world.
In autumn, the pioneering program of the Expeditions AR initiative will be carried out, which will consist of educational lessons through augmented reality. Those interested can register on the program page, in which Spain has the possibility to participate.
