If you want to know how you can play Steam Games on your Oculus Quest 2, read on as we’ve got you covered. Oculus Quest 2 has a huge library of games as it is, and adding Steam titles to this combination just makes it even bigger.

Here’s how to link everything together, plus other useful information on what games you can expect to find with SteamVR.

How to play Steam games in Oculus Quest 2

Fortunately, the way to get Steam Games to work on your Oculus Quest 2 is pretty simple, as long as you have a powerful gaming PC on hand that is capable of playing virtual reality games, and a couple of additional accessories and apps.

For a wired connection, you will need the Oculus Link cable and the associated Oculus app. For wireless connectivity, the Oculus app is also required, along with a stable 5 GHz WiFi connection, according to Oculus ‘ own guide.

How to connect your Oculus Quest 2 to a PC (wired)

  • Open the Oculus app on your PC.
  • Turn on your headphones.
  • Connect the USB-A end of the cable to your PC and the other end to your Quest.
  • When asked about data access, select ‘Deny’.
  • When prompted to enable Oculus Link, select ‘Enable’.
  • Once you’ve set up Oculus Link, it should be just a case of jumping to SteamVR and accessing any installed games you can play right away.

How to connect your Oculus Quest to your PC (wireless)

The official solution to get a stable wireless connection from your Quest 2 to your PC runs through Meta’s Air Link system which is available in beta in the Oculus app. To connect this, follow the steps below:

  • Open the Oculus app on your PC.
  • Turn on your headphones.
  • On your PC, navigate to the settings menu.
  • Go to the Beta tab and turn on Air Link
  • Go to the settings menu in your Quest 2.
  • Go to Experimental Functions and activate Air Link.
  • Air Link should now appear as an option in the headset’s quick start interface and as long as it is powered on from your PC and your PC is connected via an Ethernet port, then you should be able to open Steam VR and play games installed in the same way you would with a wired connection.

What games can you play on SteamVR?

With SteamVR, it opens up a whole new world of possibilities for the games you can play, along with titles found at home in Oculus ‘ own library, including Beat Sabre and Vacation Simulator.

Below is a small selection of the games available in the SteamVR library, including those that support VR output along with more standard gaming media:

    • Assetto Corsa (compatible with VR)
    • Google Earth VR (virtual reality only)
    • Half Life: Alyx (VR only)
    • Hot dogs, horseshoes and hand grenades (virtual reality only)
    • Hope you die 2 (virtual reality only)
    • Pavlov VR (only VR)
    • Rise Of The Tomb Raider (compatible with VR)
    • Table simulator (VR compatible)

There is no doubt that the Oculus Quest 2 seems to be a fairly versatile and powerful headset, especially with its ability to play SteamVR games, but also thanks to the fact that you can change the strap and thanks to that it has manual tracking and a set of other interesting features.

We’ll be back with you soon with more VR news, guides and information, so be sure to check back with us soon and don’t forget Meta Quest 3 seems to be on its way if you’re looking for an update. .
