Virtual Athletics League (VAL) is combined with Cloudhead Games to launch the world’s first tournament of the Pistol Whip. The tournament is held with the support of Oculus and Samsung, and will be open to everyone, one pool will be held entirely online, “from home”.
The tournament will be divided into three parts, each of which will take place over one weekend. The first part is a home tournament, which is completely online and will take place on March 13-14. The second part is the arcade tournament which will be held from 19 to 22 March will be held on the virtual arcades of parties around the world. The Grand final will be held in salt lake city at the headquarters of the VAL on March 29.
At home and in the arcade part of the tournament players will compete to score the most total points after the game on two levels Pistol Whip — Black Magic and Download the Future. The levels will pass the most difficult, with the inclusion of the modifier “no-fail”. At the end of the arcade part of the tournament will be compared to the results both home and arcade tournaments, and the top three players with the highest ratings will receive a paid trip to participate in the Grand finals in salt lake city.
The total prize Fund is $ 10,000, $ 2,500 — for the home tournament, $ 2,500 — arcade tournament, $ 5,000 for the final. The players, who took 1-8 places in the home and arcade tournaments, will receive a share of the distributed money of the prize Fund ranging from 100 to 500 dollars depending on their placement. For a Grand Final prize Fund will be: $ 2,500 for 1st place, $ 1,500 for 2nd place and $ 1,000 for 3rd place. Three of the best players in the Grand Final will also receive Oculus Rift S in addition to its cash prizes.
