Ukraine and Russia in recent years, often exchanging economic and political sanctions. Another such sanctions “pass” took place on may 17: President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the decree about blocking on the territory of Ukraine of three Russian resources of “Vkontakte”, “Classmates” and “Yandex”. The distribution also included the sites of the companies “Kaspersky Lab” and DrWeb. This political ban will last three years. After this period, UNIAN news Agency reports, the decision can be reviewed.
The reaction of Internet users, as always in such cases, was immediate. Most people expressed opposition to such decisions. Some look at the situation with humor. The walking jokes like “No “Yandex” there are no traffic jams”. There were those who supported the initiative of the Ukrainian government. The argument in this case is simple: worthless enemy to know everything about the personal life of Ukrainians.
His opinion on the situation was expressed by the representatives of the companies “caught ban”. So, Vlad Legotkin, communications Director VK Ukraine, said that the team of “Vkontakte” always avoided party politics and intends to defend the interests of its users.
Communications Director of “Classmates” Anastasia zhbanova expressed the hope that there will be any way out of this situation. In “Yandex” expressed concern about what is happening. They are confident that the main victims in this situation will be the Ukrainian users.
Rules are meant to be broken
Those who agree with this point of view, will certainly try to know how to get around bans, touched VK and other Russian sites. Ways, of course, is. Several of them and they are all quite simple, and some are even free.
Opera
This browser has a built-in VPN. This is such a nice technology that allows you to hide your IP address, masking it under the IP address of another country. To use – simply enable the appropriate option in your browser settings. By the way, the Opera was subjected to sanctions in Russia – because of the presence of VPN. And now he probably will help the Russian companies not to lose the Ukrainian audience.
Tor
Another miracle-browser. It uses several layers of encryption and, thus, hiding the data about the person. In particular, it hides the IP address of the user, giving the opportunity to go to blocked sites.
Proxy servers
This method is good because it does not require downloading any additional software. Proxy servers can also hide your IP address, though not in all cases. And they correctly display a website, which is not very convenient.
VPN services
If you want to hide information about yourself when you visit the Internet, then the best option is to use a VPN service. The most common ones are Zenmate and TunnelBear. However, their use will have to pay 3 to 5 dollars a month.
Mobile app
In addition to customers from the Opera, Zenmate and TunnelBear, there are other applications, locking the user’s data. For example, Orbot – in fact, it is similar to the desktop Tor browser but only for mobile devices.
And finally, we recall that the social network “Vkontakte” also did not stay aside and began to send Ukrainian users instructions on how to get around government bans.
