Despite the fact that Dragon Ball has more than 3 decades of existence, it still excites people in ways that practically no other cartoon achieves. The proof? Last weekend the most recent movie of the saga, Dragon Ball: SUPER HERO premiered in Mexico, Latin America and the world and it stayed with the #1 in many regions!
Box Office Mojo, the database that counts the box office earnings of films around the world, already has data from the first weekend of Dragon Ball: SUPER HERO internationally, and its numbers are envious. For starters, the film grossed $24 MILLION in the United States and $50 MILLION worldwide. This makes it the anime film with the highest-grossing release in American theaters in history.
On the other hand, Dragon Ball Super: HERO also broke it in Mexico and Latin America. In Mexico alone, the feature film had a gross of $3,700,000 million (almost $74 million), only in its first weekend, from August 19 to 21, and evidently took the #1 of the week. With this, the new Gohan and Piccoro film is already the second most popular installment of Akira Toriyama in our country. The first is Dragon Ball: Broly ($ 10,500,000 USD or $ 208,000,000 MXN), but it must be considered that the latter was on the billboard for several weeks, while the first one barely takes one. If everything goes well, Dragon Ball SUPER HERO is likely to become the highest grossing in our country.
According to IMDb, the best opening of last weekend at the Mexican box office was the movie Dragon Ball Super Super Hero, with more than 3.7 million dollars collected in our country. Thus she positions herself as the no.1 🔥
