Generally, streaming applications work very well and can withstand the fact that there are millions of users connected throughout the day without any problem. However, from time to time debuts something so important, that the servers simply go down because of how many people connect at once. This has just happened to HBO Max, after the premiere Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon.
The first chapter of House of the Dragon, the prequel Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon focused on the Targaryen house, premiered last Sunday, August 21, around 7:00 PM central Mexico time. Well, from that precise moment, thousands of users began to report on social networks and Down Detector that HBO Max was useless, because it did not allow to access the title or play it, and in some instances even the app crashed constantly.
The problems lasted for several hours, because even at midnight on August 22, approximately 5 hours later, there were still reports.
Usually, when there is such a problem, the company in question simply mentions that it is already working on fixing it. However, instead, HBO Max published a small trick so that users could continue watching the chapter even with the servers at full capacity.
Hi , to help with the crashing issues you’re experiencing, please go to any other show/movie on HBO Max, turn off subtitles/captions, and then try streaming House of the Dragon again. Let us know if that helps! ^KP
