Industry veteran Chris Kaufield leaves his position as director of sales at Microsoft to chair the same department at augmented reality company DAQRI.

DAQRI has announced the appointment of Chris Kaufield as executive vice president of sales, who will go on to lead the commercial work of the augmented reality company. Kaufield joins DAQRI with more than 20 years of experience in the technology sector through software, hardware and services for companies. Previously at Microsoft, as director of sales, he led the teams responsible for the sales growth of Surface Hub, HoloLens and other related products.

“I am delighted to join DAQRI to link leading AR technology to our customers’ most significant initiatives, ” said Kaufield. “DAQRI’s solutions give companies and their people new ways to solve real problems.”

In addition to sales, Chris will also be responsible for a wide range of partnerships, and will play a key role in the strategy and execution of sales initiatives for DAQRI’s product ecosystem. “Augmented reality is having a huge impact around the world and the pace of growth is increasing every day,” said Brian Mullins, CEO of DAQRI. “Chris’ track record is perfectly aligned with our goal of taking AR everywhere.”

With this move, DAQRI is preparing for rapid growth in its entire augmented reality platform, which includes viewers such as the Smart Helmet and software, among others.
