How to block programs in Windows 7

Here is a guide on how to allow some programs to run on Windows 7 and all others will be blocked. For example, if the computer is in a library and is used by several people, you can control which programs are allowed to run as an administrator. However, this works not in Windows 7 Home edition.

1. Start by typing “gpedit.MSCS“in the search box and press “Enter key”

2. Go to “User configuration–- > “Administrative Templates–- >”System“here, then, on the right, find the one called “Run only the specified Windows-based programs”. Press it.

3. Now comes the picture below, put the checkmark in “Enabled“and press “View”

4. Here you write the programs that you want to run, remember it must be the start file for the program.

5. If you try to open a program that is not in the list you will get the error below.
