But in fact, the modern craftsman can streamline his communication and task management by using a case management system in the cloud. We give an example of this in this article.
In a typical craft business with some running journeymen working on different projects at the customers, there is plenty of communication between the master and the journeymen in the places. It can be done over the phone during the day, at regular morning or evening meetings or when the master runs his round.
Regardless of the form, it takes time and resources to keep everyone up to date and it goes completely wrong if there suddenly occur unforeseen changes in the task prioritization – f.ex. because there comes a customer with an urgent task. Because first the master must call around and get a status so that he can find out which of the journeymen has time and then the task must then be communicated between the customer and the journeyman who will solve it.
But fortunately there is an easier way
All this communication, as well as time registration, material ordering and quality management, can advantageously be gathered in one and the same it system. If the system is loaded into the cloud at the same time, it can be accessed anywhere, as long as there is an internet connection. At the same time, the addition of an app to the system or a good and delicious responsive design on the web-based user interface, makes it possible to access the system from both computer, mobile and tablet.
This saves both master, journeyman and the company’s administrative staff a lot of time on status meetings and moving data from one system to another. Everything is collected in the same system and data from the system can even be extracted and processed in F.ex. Microsoft Excel.
This allows mester to gain an even better insight into the individual parameters of his business such as f.ex. earnings and hours spent on tasks, employee efficiency and real costs, completion rate and which suppliers are procured from the most.

All the individual master craftsman has to do is buy a subscription for the number of employees who will use the system. Then they can log in and are up and running. There is nothing to be installed – everything can be accessed from the web interface, even from a mobile phone or tablet.
For the latter devices, E-complete has released an app that can run on both iOS, Android and Windows Mobile. Together with a special quality assurance module, the app can be used to continuously collect the necessary photo and other documentation to be used in connection with quality assurance.
It was previously a task that either required the employees to come by and enter information into a system in the office or an administrative employee to enter information from the notes that were filled in by the employees in the places. It can now be managed in one and the same system with E-complete.
