Given the passivity of many of the giants, it seems that others are clear that they are going to put all the meat on the grill in the face of virtual reality. This is the case of nDreams, which has received $ 2.75 million for its virtual reality titles.
The British studio has been working on some titles for virtual reality for some time, such as The Assembly (Oculus Rift and Morpheus) and Gunner (Gear VR), in addition to three other titles that we still don’t know anything about. This new injection of external financing makes very clear the confidence of investors in the good work of nDreams. Its CEO Patrick O’luanaigh stated that when they tested the Rift it was love at first sight.
They have recently teamed up with Virtual View Productions to explore the border between video games and cinema in virtual reality, and Patrick says that they have learned a lot from their experiments, among other things that classic titles may not work in virtual reality (he gives Call of Duty as an example), stating that what works well are titles with a slower movement.
