Next e-sports hit?: “Omega Strikers”: Air hockey-football mix with show potential

Berlin Two teams compete against each other online in threes. Unsurprisingly, it’s about scoring as many goals as possible. With its classic top-down perspective, “Omega Strikers” is very easy to understand. With practiced interaction, the games become a really difficult task.

Clever tactics will bring victory

Because it’s about more than just precise passes and the shot into the goal. Each player chooses one of the currently eleven characters, who each have three skills and are suitable for different positions. While the superstar Kai can incapacitate opponents with fireballs and get faster at the touch of a button, defender Dubu creates obstacles from the ground. Opponents and play equipment are thus stopped.

Since you can stand out from the crowd with the right combinations and tactics in “Omega Strikers”, the game is already being traded as the next e-sports hit. That the developers have previously worked for Riot Games on the multiplayer online battle Arena classic “League of Legends” is therefore hardly surprising.

There should be no victory by paying

With a ranking system and already announced updates, the game in beta status should also offer long-term motivation. In addition, the developer states that the in-game purchases in the free-to-play game should not be pay-to-win. What you can buy for real money is purely cosmetic and should not have any influence on the game itself.

Whether these promises will come true in the long run remains to be seen – but until then, the game is at least an insider tip for MOBA newcomers and connoisseurs at the same time. “Omega Strikers” is available via download platform Steam for PC. According to the developers, a release for mobile platforms and consoles is in the works.
