This Tuesday, Disney surprised the world with the 1st trailer of Peter Pan and Wendy, the company’s new live-action film that is based on the 1953 animated film.
In the clip you can see what Peter, Wendy, the lost Boys and the Neverland will look like. Of course we can also take a look at Tinker Bell, the fairy who this time will be represented by the American actress Yara Shahidi.
Shahidi has African-American features, so a part of the Disney fan community criticized her appearance, as it is racially different from the one the little fairy had in the original animated movie.
So far, neither the actress nor Disney have commented on the criticism. Peter Pan and Wendy will be released this April 28th on Disney Plus.
