SMTP setup on iPhone
Small guide to help you set up the correct smtp server for outgoing mail on your iPhone. I have my mail to IT-Artikler.dk set up on my iPhone but could not send emails. After some reflection and speculation, I found that the error was in the smtp setup. I then checked my setup and found that I had forgotten to enter username and password. It must be set up in order to access my domain’s smtp server, otherwise everyone would just be able to use their smtp server for spam etc. See the guide below for setting up the smtp server.
Download programs that let you get the maximum out of your iPhone here.
1. Start by walking in “Settings”
2. Press “E-mail, contacts, calendars”
3. Host them mail you have problems with.
4. Press “Server for outgoing mail” SMTP
5. As you can see below, you also have the option to use multiple smtp servers. For example, you could be fullrate’s and sonofon’s nets that you wanted to be able to send through. Press “Primary server”
6. Here it was so that I needed to put mine “Username” and “password” enter. If it does not say there, the phone can not validate, authenticate you.
