The OSVR initiative is moving forward with a firm step and today they announce that the OSVR Hacker manufactured by Razer will have an optional cover with an integrated Leap Motion sensor.
This front can be purchased optionally and will make the HDK (Hacker Development Kit) the first virtual reality viewer with motion control technology integrated into the device, and will be the first of a line of devices with hand and finger detection. In Leap Motion believe that the future of virtual reality depends on the ability to access virtual worlds using only our hands, and has two added benefits: the developers already know what type of input device will have to design their applications, and consumers will get a consistent experience at all times.
The Hacker Development Kit pre-purchase period will open in May and shipments will begin the following month.
