The Municipal Exhibition Hall of Alcañiz will once again host this exhibition of art and short films in VR and AR from 9 to 25 November, which brings the Las Ranetas association for the fourth consecutive year.
More than thirty works by renowned artists and studios will be available to the public free of charge in the fourth FROGS VR FEST, which will take place at the Alcañiz Municipal Exhibition Hall (Teruel) of November 9-25. The contest will select, from among the participants, three winners who will obtain prizes for the categories “Best experience or short film in VR”, “Best artistic work in VR” and “Best artistic work in AR”, which this year will be delivered in the form of the Stellite cryptocurrency.
In the exhibition we can find the following sections that will allow access tuesday to Saturday from 19:00 to 21:00 and the sundays from 12:00 to 14:00 (Monday closed):
Art made in Virtual and Augmented Reality:
We can find works done in Tilt Brush, Quill, Unity … by artists such as Goro Fujita (he has been in DreamWorks, Oculus Story Studio, is an artist in residence in the VR team of Facebook), Alex Frenklakh (animation specialist, participated in Ice Age and Rio) or the enveloping art of Scobot with his World One, among others.
There will also be works of augmented reality to view them with mobile or augmented reality glasses, such as 4th Wall by the American Nancy Baker Cahill or different video-clips that come to life presented by Wavi Music.
Or the two “physical” pictures that will come to life through the screen of our mobile phones. We will have a collection of works by the Mexican artist Yunuen Esparza with her contemporary art and another collection of works by the Australian Marc-O-Matic.
Short films and experiences in Virtual Reality
We will attend 360º video productions such as the short film Ready Player One Fan Film, the Belarusian production Here And There, the Taiwanese Tower of Babel by the sea or the Spanish “Ruta 360”. We will also have animated works made with 3D engines such as The Great C by Secret Location, Moss by Polyarc or the Australian-Canadian production Perpetual Nomads.
On their website we have the complete list of the works selected for the 4th Festival of Virtual and Augmented Reality of las Ranetas.
