The latest update of VorpX adds a new profile compatible with Resident Evil 7 that allows us to test the horror game with Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.
Version 17.2.0 of VorpX, focused on improving the functionality and stability of games with Direct VR, has added a new profile for Resident Evil 7 compatible with G3D and Z3D that allows us to enjoy in virtual reality the PC version of the PlayStation VR exclusive horror game. It is not a native way to play Resident Evil 7, since it is about using the VorpX wrapper to emulate the support, but apparently it can be played, although it requires power and has some shortcomings, as we can see in the following video.
Resident Evil 7, which was released on January 24, both on PlayStation 4 and PC, only allows you to play the game in virtual reality with PlayStation VR, since it has one year of exclusivity with Sony. Therefore, those users who want to try the VR experience from their PCs, have no choice but to use this type of options, unless something similar happened to what happened back in the day with Alien Isolation that allowed activating the native mode from the configuration files.
