This year WhatsApp has not stopped presenting new features for its users. And today we found out about one more, which while not so exciting, is extremely important.
WABetaInfo revealed that WhatsApp is working on a new cybersecurity feature: the ability to protect and verify your account with an email. As you know, so far the application is only linked with your phone number, but it seems that the company is working on allowing you to extend your security further.
In the image below we see a screenshot of the new feature, which expresses how your email will be used to protect and verify your account:
Unfortunately, we do not know exactly how the email will be used. It is true that sometimes WhatsApp asks you to verify a PIN to use it, but it is not very clear how you could benefit from adding an email, which you can not already do with the cell phone in your hands. However, it is very noticeable how the company is increasingly trying to make your account more extensive and that it is not simply reduced to your number and your cell phone. For example, let’s remember that we can already use the app from a computer or web, even without having our cell phone nearby.
