Japan Display and MediaTek are developing a display for mobile devices capable of operating at a refresh rate of 120 Hz. And if this movement is not intended for virtual reality devices, someone explain to us what sense it can make to have 120 Hz on a smartphone. Virtual reality is changing the world, is there anyone left who doubts it?

120 Hz mobile screens are not only a pleasure to look at and use, they also ensure that mobile users can appreciate all aspects of the detailed action as smoothly as possible. We are thrilled to have partnered with Japan Display to revolutionize the mobile experience for consumers looking to experience premium technology.

These are the words of Jeffrey Ju, General Director of the smartphone business division of MediaTek. At the moment we do not have data on the type of screen it is, whether it is OLED, or what distribution of pixels it offers. They have also not given data on the release date, but we are sure Samsung, the new technological partner of Oculus, is not going to sit idly by and is already preparing the long-awaited screen of the commercial version of the Rift. In any case, it is good to check that other manufacturers are aware of the advantages of this technology for the long-awaited virtual reality devices. How will we be able to move graphics at 120 fps and high resolutions? This problem will also have to be faced in due course.
