Hamburg The so-called orbs are the first point of contact that users have with the Worldcoin system, a combination of cryptocurrency and unconditional basic income.
The orb design is futuristic and even instills fear in some interested parties. Rightfully so? The four most important questions and answers.
What is the orb?
An eye scanner in the form of a silver ball, which makes the Worldcoin system possible in the first place. Worldcoin claims to have produced 2000 orbs so far, of which 250 are already in use.
What is the orb needed for?
Worldcoin is based on the idea that every person is represented in the system only once and therefore needs a unique digital identity, the World-ID. It makes it possible to get to units of a cryptocurrency called WLD. Registration is required in order to participate and receive WLD units.
